David Longly Bernhardt 

David Bernhardt is the CEO of Actual Resource Solutions LLC. After watching a family member struggle though a painful incurable disease and becoming aware of the constraints stifling American biomedical research, David joined with other colleagues to develop a more sustainable pathway to support lasting innovation in biomedical research within the United States.

In doing so, David brings a proven record in the private and public sectors. He is the only person to ever be confirmed by the U. S. Senate to serve as secretary, deputy secretary and solicitor of the U.S. Department of the Interior since it was established by Congress in 1849.

While serving as the 53rd secretary of the Department of the Interior, David led a U.S. cabinet department with an asset portfolio that exceeded $300 billion, a $16 billion annual budget and nearly 70,000 employees.

His experience of engaging at the highest national levels both as the chief legal officer and leader of federal agencies during the administrations of Donald J. Trump and George W. Bush, provides a unique foundation to foster and lead an enterprise committed to a culture of regulatory compliance and innovation.

David is also deeply committed to public and charitable endeavors, actively contributing to the betterment of communities and causes he believes in. He has been involved with various wildlife conservation measures for decades including serving on the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Board of Game and Inland Fisheries.
